No. People have been whining about how the new thing will destroy civilization as far back as the Roman Republic.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow if a candidate uses social media.to ask for a vote they lost mine
@MarineBob And yet the same crowd who criticize this also often are totally cool with using the pulpit of mega churches to do the same thing.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow if the church wants to be involved in politics they need not be a non profit and the government should seize all assets
@MarineBob I don't disagree.
@MarineBob @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow So essentially, as groups are also democracies (people) forming themselves together, we should not listen. I find it curious, my nephew is going through for philosophy, but there's an idea suggesting only those educated and informed should be allowed to vote, he wants to agree, but if I were to listen to you two....

I could not find the measure of who should vote.... so many biases coming through.

@thewindupbirdchronicles voting should be only for americans with a valid ID who are registered
@MarineBob Ironically if you are talking with PicturesofaBetterTomorrow and I, we are both Canadians... I don't think either of us are asking to vote in your elections.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Explain me more why
@Hougal Well, alot of things that seems like a big deal at the time often ends up being a fad on a long enough time liine.

And people have a tendency assuming the worst.

And stuff that is really revolutionary like computers and the internet were seem as pointless toys and only useful to nerds and academics respectively.

And even stuff like the internet is not all good or bad and are a mixed bag just like the printing press.
Hougal · 31-35, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Well said... As you said it, it's a mixed...
People don't have tendency to assuming the worst... Everyone, even people that assuming only the worst part of those new technologies are consciencious of the good side of them... But the problem is that these stuffs have more bad side than good side as repercussion on humans life.

In the history, human have tendency to abuse when they find something good or benefits for their life... It's in the human nature!!! So these people that have tendency to assuming the worst as you said want to warn people!!! It's what I think!!!
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow and new things have destroyed a lot! We as really can't stop the ownership. They're revolutionary.
