Why are people keep blaming "the patriarchy" for a lot of things?

I've seen a lot of people, mostly women all over social media, complain about how the patriarchy ruins things and have no clue why. At this point, it's annoying. 🤦🏾‍♂️

I want to hear from y'all.

Because it's to blame for many things.

@Queendragonfly Is there an example? The best I can come up with are gender roles.

@xSiFiGamer2016x Gender roles alone has lead to several other problems for our society.

@Queendragonfly You're not wrong there. I had to look up what's wrong with our society, this came on top.

@xSiFiGamer2016x And even if it was there to help all boys and men in society, it actually became the opposite even for your sex.

You got taught to repress feelings. To remain "strong" and never cry or show sadness. That you need to be rich and successful in order to deserve love. You had no choice but to provide and earn money, all responsibilities were on your shoulders. You weren't allowed to divorce if you were unhappy in your marriage or met someone else. You had to have kids even if you didn't want to. If you were gay you had to hide in a hetero marriage.

And as we reached a more and more modern society , while women got taken more seriously and had help instances, men had none. Suicide rates for men is double the amount as for women.

When us women turn mentally ill we were taught to talk about it, to cry, to grief to seek help. Men weren't. And a large majority of men 40+ are still death terrified of how they would look if they needed a therapist.

They rather OD or hang themselves than seeking help. Men are more at risk to end up outsiders which also increase the risk of suicide.

So to tear down the patriarchy wasn't just a liberation for women, but for you men as well.

@Queendragonfly Society itself basically forgot that us men, like women, are humans with emotions. And I completely agree with you on the things you said. I was brought up to "be a man" and to "man up".... But at what cost? There's so much that men can do before they expire.

As for the suicide ratings between men and women, I had to fact check long ago to know that a study mentioned that men end their lives almost 4x higher than women. That's fucking scary. An old study from 2021. That can be a multitude of reasons: divorce like you mentioned (it's why many men now are opting out of marriages), homelessness, and actual trauma to name a few.

And the fact that no one cares says it all. Us men are somewhat useless, despite doing useful things. Society saying "it's not enough"...
