Why do people say “I’m just going to say it.” before saying something?

Is it customary to declare one’s actions before doing them?
Such as “I’m just going to eat it.” before a meal or “I’m just going to drive it” before getting into a car.
You humans are a curious bunch 🤨👻

@Ghostinthemachine I guess they love your scent! My dog follows me everywhere too!
@Ghostinthemachine The cats I've known would have been laughing. "I TOLD you he can't even use a litterbox!"
@Mamapolo2016 Or maybe they are studying how to flush the toilet without thumbs

@Ghostinthemachine You know dogs really love stinky armpits🐕
@Blondily is that why they follow me around wherever I go? Is it time to try a different deodorant??
Blondily · F
@Ghostinthemachine Yes I would suggest you dont buy your supplies at the pet store. That should have been your first clue. 💡
@Blondily So…the jerky smelling deodorant was a bad idea? 😳
Blondily · F
@Ghostinthemachine Bad idea for you, good idea for them!😛
@Blondily not really, they look so disappointed when they see the source of all those wonderful, pungent odours is a hairy armpit
Blondily · F
@Ghostinthemachine Oh the dogs will just go nuts rolling in it depending how hairy you are. lol
@Blondily let’s just say it’s not uncommon for me to trip over it, like untied shoelaces
Blondily · F
@Ghostinthemachine If that's true then the cats will want to get in on the action and play with it. 🤭
@Blondily what’s good for the canine is good for the feline 🐶🐱
