Spend some time in a female prison and go from there. Aggressive dominant women aren't any win for those who are on a pacifist side. The leaders of each group would eventually try to push you to do what benefits them or what they believe is right. I think there's no guarantee individualists would fare better in a matriarchal society.

@CrazyMusicLover Although I have never been in prison, all the accounts I heard totally reinforce your point. Prison is not lala land for either men or women. Aggressive people will remain aggressive people no matter what.

@revenant I haven't been either. I just listened to some podcasts with prison guards in both male and female prisons and I have no reason to not believe them how it works there. Now when it comes to normal life, I'm sure most people from Western world have had experience with women in the position of power and I dare to say, at least from what I experienced myself, they were more prone to misuse it than men. Take schools for example. Of course, we can argue that it's the "effect of the shit rolling downhill" and behind the misuse/abuse of power is the overall frustration of being seen as less in society, feeling unsafe or maybe not being appreciated and paid enough and taking it out on those "below" but I'm not entirely convinced about that.
Maybe it's because I'm a woman and biased but I feel like there's far more aggression and anger in women than it's generally believed and many do take it out on people around.

@CrazyMusicLover I am also a woman and I agree with you. Anger in women usually takes other forms or other channels. It is redirected in some other ways and is usually hiding under some kind of other motive. It takes overt qualities, it is mainly hidden. It can take on the mask of " caring for you" when the motive is way darker. The fields of psychology and sociology and social workers are full of them. To think that women are not after power and control is kind naive to me.

@revenant Interesting thoughts. I agree, it's like indirect cultures where the smile doesn't dim but everything is still going on behind it. But I'm far more interested in women's thoughts on this topic than my own. I thought growing up that girls had it easy going to school since I had to get past all the fights and things. Then I had a daughter and realised what girls can be like.
@CrazyMusicLover Interesting, of course women can be violent. But a matriarchal society is not an all-female society.

@Abstraction It is more behind the scenes with women or it tends to be that way. Ah yes if you could compare men and women to cultures : women would be Japan and men the United States 🙂

@EarthlingWise Yes but I assume it would be the most dominant and most aggressive individuals who would be on top and take leading positions.
@CrazyMusicLover I don't know. Prisons are a special place. Matrilineal societies, whether among humans or animals tend to be more pacifist.
