I know this sounds selfish but.....

After realizing how heartless and awful people are in general I only have relationships with people that do something for me. If it's toxic, I'm not happy, or this person brings nothing good to my life I want nothing to do with them. For years I was so nice to people and congratulated myself for being kind, putting others first, and getting nothing in return but now that I see people for who they really are just don't see a point of thinking like this anymore.
