nedkelly · 61-69, M
The only people that used Jive Turkey were the Black Americans
@nedkelly
You lived in the U.S.?
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@Aliveshock No. watched American TV
Have you been watching “Good Times”?
We didn’t go around saying dynamite either.
@Aliveshock He has an infomercial where he’s still saying that. It’s rather sad, actually.
@bijouxbroussard
I have seen it.
William shatner and Joe Namath sell themselves out also!

Social media didn't exist, it would have be horribly worse had there been instantaneous meme propagation back then
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
I had forgotten about those😂😂
Just the clichés of the days.

@bijouxbroussard Was it a good term back then?
@Dino11 It mostly meant "bs", someone making up stuff or exaggerating was "jiving". Not quite as bad as lying, but nothing to take seriously.

we all tried to be black. It didn't work.
Did they ? I was there and it was just slang that some people used occasionally. People have always used slang terms, still do.
Every era has its slang, I imagine. This song popularized the first term…
