Homeless Transgender Woman interview-Rebecca
Aw this broke my heart, she said when she was little she was bouncing from foster care to foster care because no one wanted her as she was trans, eventually ending up on drugs with lack of support and trauma. What I notice about people especially in the comment section, is that people too often want to control others while wanting them to seek help and that's part of the issue, you see the same thing with narcissists. The thing is, this woman would still be trans even if she got help because the real issues are lack of support, trauma and drug use. Too often we have this inner social need to control people and want to blame things on unrelated things due to biases.
I often hear things about the mental health system and we always blame it on the system but another thing at fault is the people themselves, maybe that's why it's so broken. Can't fix this if we have a collective attitude of social narcissism and authoritarianism.
If you want to believe you actually "love" people, then you will believe that but it's a lie. Loving doesn't mean controlling people, if you get someone help, they will still be the same person and not your little pet.
