Should people be expected to help random people?

So I recently watched this video about this women being kidnapped in broad daylight and no one did anything to help her. I also saw a video of teenage boys laughing at a drowning man.

The argument against helping people is you don't know them so why should you care about what happens to some random person you don't know? Since you didn't cause the problem why should you burden yourself and help out? I think it's only natural for people to watch others suffer anyway to be honest.

I saw a women get sexually harassed on a train no one did anything until I stepped in to help her. I know that this could've potentially been dangerous but I'm happy that I did something.

What do you guys think?
i don't think u can expect anyone to help, but the world would be better if ppl just did
If you have the opportunity to genuinely help someone why not? Nowadays people look down on those less fortunate not realizing that their place can be switched at any given time. I encourage people to help even if it is buying someone a coffee or purchasing items that a person doesn't have enough funds for kindness goes a long way.

I think you should always help out in the best way you are able to..

I try not to.

But alas I always do. 😑

I think that some people are afraid of getting attacked themselves--or sued, in this litigious society. If I can help, I will--to a point. I have no problem with calling the cops if it's a bad scene.

I would consider it my duty to help someone in danger, if I could.

In the case of someone drowning, I wouldn't be much help tho.
