@ClassicRocker it’s so hard because my mom was a narcissist and I went no contact 3 years ago…… her husband died last August of leukemia complications….. she was diagnosed with the same leukemia 2 months later
I reached out so many times but she wouldn’t respond 😞
Then she caught Covid and she beat it but her lungs were so damaged and scarred from Covid and years of smoking that they wouldn’t absorb oxygen….. she asked to see me and I went to her….. it was like we didn’t skip a beat….. the next day the doctors told her she wasn’t going to recover and they were going to move her to comfort/hospice care …. I was with her every day in the last week of her life…. But now the regrets run so deep and my heart is heavy and sad 😔

@Miklee02 Miklee, my mother also ended up in hospice from an incurable tumor and I spent over a month by her side every day. Because of my introverted nature and unwillingness to share my emotions with people, there are so many things I never told her or wished I'd said that I regret it every day.
I hope I'm not out of line by saying this, but I like to believe that our mothers are very forgiving when it comes to what [b][i]we[/i][/b] feel we could have done differently. I was never a perfect son, and she knew that. Hopefully, they are watching over us and wanting us to live our lives being the best people we can be towards others.
Sometimes, forgiveness is the most difficult when it means forgiving ourselves. Please be well and know there are people who love and look up to you.

@Miklee02 I don't normally like to share how I feel but your reply to my question made me feel I couldn't [b][i]not[/i][/b] say anything to you about my own experience. I genuinely hope you start to heal when you can on your schedule. There is no time limit involved so be well my friend 🤗☮️
