I remember going to the YMCA in college and when I asked for the discount, they demanded my college ID. The next guy behind me (a dashing/taller gentlemen) did the exact same thing and didn't have to produce an id.
My friend with the Tom Cruise smile can get anything he wants and I get "regular" service.
