Twitter reveals it is actually an extension of TheOnion
Twitter users have finally been told the popular site is an extension of TheOnion today, after more than a decade of the site's existence.
"We just felt it was time" said a Twitter spokesperson, "It was pretty funny how many people thought the posts on there were real, but every joke needs a punchline some time." Radical left and right-wing groups appeared to be the most shocked by the revelation. "I don't blame them. You grow up thinking your heroes are actually on there, sending messages directly to you and your peers, and then it turns out the whole thing was just a gag? I'd be royally pissed, but hey, they'll be talking about this 100 years from now. Just hopefully not on Twitter" laughed the representative.
