@DeWayfarer limited and private posts can indeed never be indexed, but public posts can be both before and after changing this setting. So this really only makes it harder for non-member humans to get a full picture about you by browsing SW, not for AI to profile you or people using AI linking everything together. ☹ The only protection against that is changing the visibility of every post individually and that only works for new ones.
I wonder if anyone would use a social media site that doesn't allow you to upload, embed or link to any photos, audio or video at all, and all your interactions had to rely solely on writing and reading text. That's the only way you can truly stop this (account settings or whatnot don't mean much in the event of something like an unforeseen data breach, for example).
I'm surprised here when people post photos that even purport to be their adult-aged friends or relatives, and/or use the supposedly real names of these people ... like, do those people know this is happening, and do they consent to being named and depicted to a bunch of strangers o social sites? Even if the "real" names are invented pseudonyms (which in itself serves no purpose, it's just as easy to use pronouns and generic nouns), if you don't tell anyone that it gives the impression that you have no qualms about sharing other people's private / offline details on social networks without their consent.
If you point out to people that it's not cool to post pics of other people, of course they react negatively / brattily. And then of course you don't know if they're really sharing pics of people they know, or are just using random pics found on the Internet while spinning elaborate false stories.

i found this out an somebody here claimed to have independently found out about it, then someone chimed in on her behalf. This user posts about shock value stuff alot.
We live in a sad world... It's nothing new that Facebook and other companies build profiles like that, but AI did make it easier for others to search through that too. And why is "who is that passenger" even a suggestion? Probably because enough people searched for that even before AI, and those skilled enough probably got the answer before AI too. But that doesn't mean any platform or tool should make it that easy.
