I Love Smoking Cigarettes

I started smoking regularly when I was 16 and am now approaching the 30-year mark. Every guilty feeling or health concern just melts away when I inhale that first drag in the morning...the feeling of inhaling menthol cigarette smoke is so wonderful for me. I love being a smoker.

I don't love to be a smoker, but unfortunately I enjoy smoking.
The feeling of inhaling menthol cigarettes is not my thing.

@Pieter66 @Pieter66 That is too bad then for you. When you called the feeling of smoking “fantastic,” I assumed you liked it.

I got over the feelings of guilt about smoking when I started to focus on how much I liked it instead of what other people thought of the fact I smoked.

So now every time I light up, I think about how much I like being a smoker.

Every time I light up, I doubt ..

You said you had quit for 6 years but then made the decision to start again because you missed it. Obviously it wasn’t the nicotine that brought you back to smoking, but something else.

You would do well to figure out what that is, because it stems from that part of you that wants to be a smoker. Your doubt when you light up shows you are in conflict with some part of yourself.

If you really want to quit, link up with a support group to help you past the craving hurdles. If you don’t, then start thinking of yourself as a long-term smoker and enjoy each cigarette.

I’ve chosen the latter and now I love being a smoker.

Slowly but surely I am beginning to accept it now. The doubt that I always had during the lighting of a cigarette is now less.@Rocko

@Pieter66 I understand that... I simply love taking that first inhale of menthol cigarette smoke into my lungs each morning. Like you, I used to beat myself for succumbing to the need to smoke, but I found a group of dedicated smokers on line who really put me in touch with how I feel about smoking. I came to realize just how much I enjoy everything about it...if there is such a thing as a smoking gene, I must have dominant traits...I wanted to smoke from a very early age and now that I’m older, I still love it, but since recognizing that being a smoker is a part of who I am, now I enjoy it as well.

I really enjoy that first cigarette of the morning...going out to light up is pretty much the first conscious thought I have any given day. But then that’s just one aspect that marks me as a long-term smoker.

What brand do you smoke?
Pieter66 · 56-60, M
I smoke Moods filter cigarillos because in general I think cigarettes are a little too light. I'm going to light one now, feels good.@Rocko

Lighting up does feel good. I smoke Pall Mall menthol...nice draw and good taste. But I do like to try other brands occasionally. That’s one of the pleasures of being a smoker.

I once started with Camel, later changed to Caballero, then Pall Mall reds, and finally Moods.@Rocko

I’ve always been a menthol smoker...started with Salems and smoked Benson and Hedges for a while.
