I Do Not Smoke

Can someone please explain why anyone would even want to smoke? It is just slowly killing you and judging by the smell, it must taste vile.

Even more, why people drink alcohol to excess. I cannot understand why they prefer their inebriated self to their normal self.

I cannot bear to drink more than one glass of wine (& then only with a meal) because I don't like the sensation that would follow.
