While I wouldn’t exactly say I’ve ever been an addict, any time I’ve turned to drugs and alcohol more heavily I’ve been struggling with something missing in my life, or things were just turned upside down in ways I didn’t expect. It was an easy way to cope at the moment. I’d imagine many other users feel the same.
