I Think Drugs Should Be Legalized

I've always been a fan of the decriminalization of drugs.

The problem would self correct. People who cannot regulate themselves would fall to the wayside. While those who can will move forward.

Besides, I'd like to see these so called "drug lords" go up against the multi-billion dollar drug industry.

Without question the drug laws need to go, the harm from the black market and violence associated with the black market enabled by drug laws far outweigh the harm done by the drugs themselves. Societal pressures and medical intervention is more effective at controlling drug use. It is not like without the drug laws people would jump on the drug use bandwagon, there is still the pressure of being fired from your job because nobody wants to pay a stoner to work as well as other pressures to keep things in check. Just look at smoking, everyone used to smoke when I grew up and now very few do and that happened without a drug war against cigarettes.

People is the big deal. !
Your idea isn't a bad one. IF those doing it follow the rules of how and when to do it.
But people are generally stupid, so they try and drive with a bloodstream full of dope or coke. They put others lives in danger.
Now imagine the same scenario only with a train driver, bus driver, airline pilot, medic, etc.
So because you can't legislate for stupidity. You have have to apply blanket laws for everyone!
I know a lot of folk praise the Amsterdam coffee shop idea.
But even they've had to tighten rules up because foreign visitors abused it and started making ordinary folks lives difficult.

And that's when society goes dooooownhill 👎🏽

I dont care if you are an adult and do drugs but if you legalize drugs children would have an easier time getting them and it would be much more popular. I dont think anyone wants a future society where all the adults brains are fucked up because of drugs that altered their brains when they were still growing.
