I Think Smoking Around Children Should Be Illegal

A lot (but not all) of states in the U.S have this law. My childhood would have been totally different if they had this law when I was a kid. My mom chain smoked in the car with the windows closed and clouds of smoke went straight in my face. This was very common back then and no one thought twice about it.

One of the most extreme car rides I remember was a 5 hour road trip with my mom and her girlfriend with the windows closed. I was in the back breathing in SO much smoke it was overwhelming. I noticed that every given moment at least one of them was smoking. Then finally after a couple of hours neither one was smoking. The car was still incredibly smokey but I could finally catch my breath. Then a few minutes later they both lit up at the exact same time and big plumes of cigarette smoke went straight to the back seat in my face. I swear it seemed like the smoke actually knew who the non-smoker was and that's who it travels to lol.

I think do gooder nanny staters who call for more laws to control other people's lives should be shot on sight.

That is illegal here in Canada as well, has been for a while. Just not enforced much.
