Does it seem like not using drugs or alcohol is seen as heresy?

I get the impression that people think I'm somehow fanatical because I don't drink or use drugs. To me this is not only effortless but I could not imagine doing otherwise. I can't believe some of the things people put in their bodies. The suffering and mental dysfunction this causes amazes me.
