Cigarette smokers/psychologists, is it normal to smoke for years and not like the taste, from what you have heard, yes or no?

I quit smoking this past Christmas. But how is going to work for very few. I made my own purchasing tobacco and filtered tubes and both manual and electric cigarette machines.
Your asking about taste. I would say staying with a tobacco or cigarette brand, when I bought them, I would say from my actual experience not heard that I remained comfortable with the taste. However there's many cigarettes and tobacco brands I found to be awful.
My significant other, who has passed, and myself smoked longer than we should have because I could make 5 cartons for people paid for 1. And I had to make regular for myself and menthol for her.
I have however heard of people as you said who have after many years found their brand starting tasting bad. That didn't necessarily cause them to quit however.

To me the taste is irrelevant its the calming effect I get.

@eyeno I use to tell people "me smoking saves your life". A lot of them didn't talk to me after.

I quit quite a few years ago now
