It has uses. The problem comes with the prescriber..it’s easier for them to sign off a script than deal with dependency issues

@SlippingAway Perdue was also responsible for a Valium crisis in the 60's, 70's. My mother was caught in that one. My Father caught on to what was happening and threw the pills away.

Some people are just self destructive
@SW-User Millions of people were prescribed oxycodone and got addicted. Billions in sales for pharmaceutical companies and then the people who were addicted were cut off. The doctors wouldn't prescribe oxy anymore. The people went to the streets to find opiods like herion. Fentanyl is cheaper for dealers. More potent. So they sold fentanyl to people addicted to street drugs.
