I Like To Paint My Nails

My wife and I went to have a massage today. My toenails are still painted. I kept waiting for the masseuse to comment about the paint as she was working on my toes, but she didn't say anything. So I said, "I know your professionalism won't allow you to say anything but what did you think of my toes? " She said, "I liked them. I think it's great that you paint them. It would be a waste to get a pedicure without getting the full treatment. " I guess that shows the difference between the reaction of strangers and those closer to us. And also shows that more and more people are accepting of alternative lifestyles.

I always have my toes painted, And get massages(female therapists only) all the time. They'll see my toes, and it'll be a lot you, I'll joke about being "such a girl". well any way, I've been seeing this same therapist the last few times she's awesome I've stopped taking mussel relaxers because of her work.

So on Wednesday I saw her again, when she got to my toes she asked "so what color do you have on today". It was a "creamy pink", So then I asked "can I tell you something", She said "sure", I said "you know I joke about being such a girl, well it not a joke I'm transgender"

She was totally cool about it, she ask lots of good questions. Then she said something that hit home, she said "I can tell how real this is for you, and how you feel, when you started to talk about you lit up like a Christmas tree", she was so prescriptive and so right.

It was so nice to have her just totally accept me and not judge me

Nicely done, Sharon. I go to a salon that is cool with painting my toes as part of the pedicure. Like your masseuse said, it would be a waste not to get the full treatment. My esthetician (body waxer) and I get into discussions of what the best color is for my toenails.

THATS JUST AWSOME!!! Its encouraging to know that it didnt make a big deal. I had a similar situation, i had to go to the ER, and had painted toes. I am sure there were laught in the back room, but not a word was said.
