Dental farming

Are there dentists that are interested in helping people, or are they all just in it for the money?
My last dentist told me one of my teeth was going to crack one day and I should have a crown done. This went on about 3 years, and every visit I noticed he spent extra time with his grinder doing things to it. I think he was purposely sabotaging it, drilling out the edges so it would crack.
About a year later it strangely cracked and then he said "I told you so".
They do things that cannot be proven, but I am convinced they are just farming everyone. Once they get access to your teeth then you are a farm animal.

Why didn't you change to a different dentist?

I think my dentist makes most of her money on the annual checkups.
@ninalanyon Actually I did. The new guy looked at my teeth and told me I needed crowns on all of them, including the ones that already have crowns on them. I had a crown fall off once, he put it back on but told me that he had to grind down the tooth a bit to fit it back on, so now the crown isn't high enough and I need another new one.
Just like cattle to them.. They look at your dental insurance, see how much is covered, and then work on a plan to collect every dime from that plus whatever they can get from you as well.
