You don't have permission to annoy me in private messaging when it was clear that in a public forum I did not choose to engage with you about something that has no value to me.

Example:



In a comment thread...

Me: I don't like X (which may be tangential to a comment I made).

You: I like X. Does X disturb you?

Me: We have different preferences, and that's fine.



In private messaging...

You: Can you rate my X?

Me: Let's not talk about X.

You: I am just curious.

Me: I don't have to explain it to you. (Annoyed by now.)


Bottom line: I really don't care about how you prefer your X.
