Best thing about having long wild curly hair is saving moisturizer and time

I only moisturize my hair ,and it moisturizes my face with the slightest breeze of air.

Do you have hard water? I do and it's wrecking my hair lol. I guess you almost oughta be living on well-water.

@BlueVeins I use spring water for my home. The wells are drinkable but I don't really rely on them for personal consumption. Are you using a purifier to soften it?
I know conventionally people moisturize their hair after a shower but considering that the water is damaging yours, do oil your hair before showering and see if it changes anything within few weeks.

@BlueVeins use oil that isn't too strong in odor lol. Any oil.

@Miram I've tried wearing a shower cap most days. That didn't really help. I've tried putting on oil, but it's probably been coming off with the shampoo. I can't install a softener because I don't own my apartment. Bought a filtered showerhead, but I've yet to put it on yet and it can only filter out chlorine.

The only thing that's worked has been soaking my hair in vinegar, but even that only worked for a day. I'm tempted to just move somewhere with softer water.

@Miram The water here is pretty much as hard as it gets. Some people seem to tolerate it well, but I don't.

@BlueVeins Do different parts of the city have different water sources and quality?

It sounds like a nightmare.

@Miram There's soft water in the other city a few minutes away, but housing is too expensive there. There are other reasons for me to move away anyway. I already know where I want to go, but it won't be possible for months at least.
