Can anyone here recommend a good effective but NOT fast acting laxative? I am only 11 steps away from a toilet yet have messed up my floor with feces

I have had the disheartening experience of messing on the floor on my way rushing to the toilet because a laxative I took worked very suddenly. And my toilet is only 11 steps from my bed. I have been an invalid for 10 months now and, believe me, it sucks bigtime. I need a laxative that will absolitely work--but NOT suddenly!

There are three types of laxatives that take longer (12 hours to 3 days) to work. These include bulk-forming laxatives like Fibercon, stool softeners, and osmotic laxatives like Miralax. Other common OTC products in this group include Citrucel, Metamucil, and Colace.
