I had my first laser hair removal session today. (:
I made sure to jack off beforehand to make sure I wouldn't pop a boner on the table. It mostly worked. Took a shower to avoid making her job more gross than it has to be, even though she said at the consultation that she's used to wiping deodorant off of clients. I put numbing cream on my face shortly before leaving my home like she suggested, but I didn't have any saran wrap (which you need for certain areas of the body for deep skin penetration) and had to buy some on my way over.
Arrived a few minutes late, but the aesthetician was very chill about it. She took extra care to make sure my skin was numb. We made casual conversation, and I felt really comfortable the whole time; she taught me a lot about the process of laser hair removal. She was attentive to my pain levels at various points, she adjusted the laser frequently, and she was super encouraging about it. The aesthetician suggested a couple extra areas of the body she could hit and offered to do them on the house. Overall, she just seemed really passionate about her work and about helping people get the results they want, which I appreciate the hell out of. When she was done, she applied some skin soothing agent to limit irritation.
Overall, it was a pretty good experience. Sure, it hurt, but the pain was far from unbearable, and it came with almost none of the awkwardness I had feared going in. I have five sessions left now and will probably require more for my face. I tipped nicely, since she was so good at her job and so attentive, which she seemed to be surprised by for some reason. If anyone's on the fence about getting laser hair removal, I can only recommend it based on this experience.
I kinda did this in a super financially irresponsible way, I only have a few hundred dollars left lol. But I was really desperate to get this treatment done as the winter began since you can't get as much sun while doing laser hair removal and stuff. Oh well, I get paid on four days regardless.
