Is it better to shave cheeks and neck if there isn't a whole lot there?

Keep your beard low instead of letting it grow longer and scraggly which tends to look bad if its too patchy.
Here is a guy with patchy beard who wears a neatly trimmed beard look. He looks nice and neat.
