Do u mourn or celebrate Virgin Mary's death🤔?
Magicianzini · M
I've never met any Christian who celebrated this woman's death. She's mostly set aside in Christianity except for maybe Catholics, and I don't think even they celebrate this? Time for Grok haha.
Edit: Ah! Catholics haha ok, I see now.

@Boeing Yes, I saw that in search. I grew up around a lot of Catholics, heard them speak of "the assumption". I see that is this.

@Magicianzini

You say that as though it would be a bagatelle but it's over a billion people.

@ninalanyon And most of them are in my family 🤣

So how is that celebrated? Any rituals?
In Hinduism the death we celebrate is the death of the evil man, Ravana, who abducted the goddess Mother Sita and wanted to marry her. Lord Ram later killed the Ravana, and rescued Sita(his wife). We celebrate this day as Dussehra, that usually comes in month of October.

@ABCDEF7 the church bells ring very slow, in some places they take the picture of Virgin Mary decorated with flowers and they walk around the streets, people following, chanting.
Then later everyone celebrates with gathering in families, foods, etc
Here we have the tradition that we celebrate also the name we are given. So for each name there is a day to celebrate. And during this day, all Marias are celebrated, also Despoina and Panagiota (less popular names) but half the population is named Maria ahah so every family has a celebration.

She died?

@Boeing sounds wonderfully fresh and tasty. We have art on the green where many local artists bring their unique one of a kind art projects to sell or share with others. And the infinite wisdom of our municipality says if you don't mass produce your creations and sell them at super expensive prices, you aren't welcome to display your art
Magicianzini · M
@Bang5luts Bruh did you think she was still alive 🤣

@Magicianzini 🙆🏻♂I feel like this is a trick question. 🏃♂

I love Libera !
I was Catholic and while the Virgin was revered and celebrated, I don’t recall ever celebrating her death…possibly the day was called something else here.

Amazing how a mis-translation can hang on for millennia.
