I saw a comedian talk about this. He said think of the billions of people who ever existed in human history. What are the odds that YOU will find your perfect soul mate, here, at the same moment you exist? It's astronomical. Chances are, you eventually find someone you think is your soul mate, but really, you just decide they are preferable to anyone else you've met. Your true soul mate, the one individual whose soul might have resonated wholly with yours, might have died in 1750, or 1899, or 1985. You'll never meet them.
