Reminds me of a certain booth at Applebee's that the waitresses reserved for me, when I use to frequent there a long time ago. 🙃🤪
BTW it was very near the kitchen area as well.
I'm certain many, that worked there, didn't think I knew the significance of that. Yet what they didn't realize, I got quicker service, as well as access to all the managers. Often free food because of that.
It's often what the "hoi polloi" never will understand.

@DeWayfarer It seems like a table for employees to take their break or lunch break without being distracted by customers. Hardees here used to have a couple of side tables near the bathroom. Not the optimal place to eat a meal but when my daughter was a toddler she’d turn around and stare at other customers while they were eating so I’d take her to the side table to eat and leave the other customers to eat in peace. I noticed that the staff would take their breaks at those tables. One time I got our food and we sat down and I overheard some drug traffickers talking cryptically. Four men in silk suits (very much out of place in a fast food place like Hardees) three staring at this guy and I believe ordering him to make another delivery. The entire time I pretended to interact with my daughter but caught enough to know what they were doing. They got up to leave and the man they were pressuring was a neighbor that had an acreage two houses up the road and he worked at a bank first as a loan officer and later as VP (after he bought a business degree illegally which was found out & charges against the employee who sold him the diploma). His wife later divorced him due to him flying to South America every week in a plane that he had purchased. And she got everything, the home, the acreage, the horses, the Mercedes, the children, and a good amount of alimony & child support. I kept my mouth shut about what I saw until much later, because who wants to mouth off about a suspected drug trafficker.

@cherokeepatti well, they actually had their own employee break area in the back of the building.
Yet you are correct, you do hear some unique type of conservations in such areas. 😆
I used to frequent Carl's Jrs in my college days, studying in such areas near the restrooms.
