What does this mean from a guy?

What does it mean when a guy gets distracted while talking to you (like he forgot to give me back my piece of paper) and says ‘you know I’m a man?’

Was he flirting or is he just saying that men cannot multitask?

@TheSentinel I haven't looked into it too deeply but I remember hearing in passing years ago that multitasking was a myth.

A quick Google search : One study found that just 2.5% of people are able to multitask effectively.
