Why do singles use WhatsApp to chat?

Just trying to figure what is purpose of using WhatsApp if you can text or talk on site?

Everyone uses it, not just singles. My family have a group for arranging gatherings or picking up shopping. I’m on a work chat group too It’s pretty every day stuff.
