I Am Single

I've been single, mostly by choice, for almost seven years. My job and raising my son have occupied the majority of my time during those years. Most of the time, I'm fairly content. Other times, like tonight, I miss the presence of "that other person". When I feel sad, or a bit freaked out, I long to have that presence there. I miss being held the most. Wisps of sensation make their presence known from time to time, and bits and pieces of memories appear. I hope that I will be fortunate enough to find that again in the future.
