It's bizarre to me that some people in the dating scene will introduce themselves with a fake name to people they have met in person with a straight face. It causes people to lose trust in others who like them, who are genuine. It's also a concern...

@SW-User think apps are good way at the start before you physically meet its an easy way to chat get to know someone without the first date awkwardness when you do meet you've a ground base for conversation to break the ice.

@LondonGirl Yes that does make sense. I just assumed with the apps that people just meet up at first glance. I prefer to get to know someone first.

@jaymic64 It depends. Some people might do it because they're insecure about their name or they have trust issues which is understandable. But others who do it have intentions of hurting their victim. That's what's scary about it.
