Man eff today give me yesterday

This new world really sucks.
I gave Walmart plus a shot because Amazon is going downhill fast even though the cause is making them more profit. Why people stick with them is the effing Monopoly tradition.
Anyway I created a plus account and the sight said store delivery available. I have 3 within 20 minutes driving distance. No I don't get out to shop.
I placed an order for delivery tomorrow which was confirmed and charged.
Several minutes later I got a message the order was cancelled with no specific information why.
Eff this I immediately cancelled my new membership.
Dammit I give up

The real question is why people stopped shopping local?

Why as a populace did we decide to fall for temporary cheaper prices as all the people we knew by name went out of business?

I remember a grocery store that was only shopped at by people who could walk there and everyone had an account.

I remember being 5 years old and walking down there in my underwear only like that was normal, and telling Ed that my mom sent me down for 2 packs of Reece’s and putting them on her tab. He gave me the candy, walked me back across the main road, and never charged my mom.

Only to end up with these mega monopolies that now gouge us and couldn’t care less if we’re happy with the non-existent services…

We all chose this shit without even knowing what the choice was.

Oh that would definitely tick me off too. That's a bunch of bull. I'm sorry this happened to you I know how angry they can make you, because I've had trouble with them as well.

@LadyGrace when that happened I was extra ticked because Vickie had a Walmart account and got deliveries here so many times. Three stores within 20 minutes driving time and this area got zoned out of delivery availability. Yeah you bet I got the corporate complaint email and I sent a very nasty complaint. I would admit I completely lost it and unloaded expletives and all. Didn't do any good of course but I felt better knowing someone on the other end had to cringe reading it.

@Gibbon Don't feel bad. I've had to tell them off a few times myself. Sometimes we get those young kids in there who don't know what in the world they're doing and they don't care what type of job they do as far as performance. They just do things to get by.

Walmart sucks worst than Amazon. I'm not sure where you live, but there are other places that are local that will deliver or arrange a pickup when you arrive. For groceries, I generally shop over a few days and then do a scheduled pickup. It's fast and efficient. Or when especially stressed, a delivery.

Oh they sure don't!! I stopped using them long ago. And I don't know what these shoppers at Walmart are thinking when you order a home delivery and instead of giving you nice bananas they bring you half rotten ones. That really ticks me off. And you know what? Sometimes they tell you they are out of things, but they're not!! Like if you order in bundle. I've went and looked before when they said they were out and they had plenty. They're just rationing them out. I've had it with them, Amazon and doordash!

@LadyGrace I'm living with Amazon as best I can. I figured out a hack to get the driver to actually see where my entrance is. It actually works for most drivers. There are still some who leave it on the front porch which is actually my upstairs neighbor. I figure those are the ones who don't read or speak a word of English. Or are just plain lazy.
