A friend called me and told me Walmart shelves here are bare… due to port striking.

It is panic buying. Walmart has depots to pull from, and we make most of our own toilet paper.

The youtube channel "What's Going On With Shipping" which I follow religiously (he is a cornerstone of the OSINT community, talked to him many times) says it will take about a week of strikes before shelves stop being restocked, but the US makes most of our food, and the strike won't touch gas.

What it will do is run alot of factories into closing.

He estimates about a week worth of strikes. Right now it is more about the union making a point and wanting to strike than needing to strike, they've gotten pretty good offers.
@Dignaga nah I don’t think it’s panic buying for most. Most buy groceries every week. They don’t want to run out of food. They have to eat. Not too many people here stock up. I personally have a good stock cause I know ‘anything’ could happen at anytime!
@NoGamesTolerated It's definately panic buying. It's a known phenomena. I've seen it every snowstorm with old people rushing out to buy food before it hits.
@Dignaga I stand by my answer. I think I know a bit more than you do about the people here. Please move on. You’ve stated your opinion and I have mine. Done! Have a good day sir!
