Plastic Grocery Bags Smaller / Thinner

I know others have noticed in many stores today the plastic bags used not only are smaller but they are thinner as well.

Loading up your car the bags or subject to burst apart and not just one.

Are they trying to force people to buy their canvas type bags?

Think I'll shop for a heavy duty burlap bag.

In Europe the supermarkets have to charge for carrier bags so most people bring their own. The supermarkets also sell higher quality reusable bags that fold up small so you can carry them in a pocket or handbag, they typically cost about 10 NOK (about 1 USD) and they last for a very long time.
