I took the bus to the grocery store again.
Last time, it was really miserable because of the bus line's low frequency. It only comes once an hour, and I ended up sitting around on manhole cover for like half an hour waiting for the bus. This time, it was nice. When I arrived at the grocery store, I used google maps to route me home so I'd know when the bus back was predicted to come back at all times. I used that ETA as sort of a time budget and only went to checkout when there was only like 15 minutes left.
It wasn't just better planning that worked in my favor though; I'm also getting back into cooking, which means that shopping takes more time now. I told myself after the first visit that I'd bring my bike up, and I still intend on doing that. But it's comforting to know that I have options in the meantime (and throughout the coming winter).
There was an old lady who kept gabbing to me the whole way over on the bus, and she didn't seem very adept at navigation. She said she would come back on the next bus over, but I would've seen her there if she had. I hope she at least caught the next one, must've really sucked just sitting there at her age with no bench or anything.
