How come people freak out when yet another "Dollar store" is struggling?

Those places are ghetto anyways. They are not even much cheaper than a real store.
Most of them are in bad enough shape to look like a fever dream.

You go some place like Big Lots and it is the worst of the worst.
Grocery aisle has stuff like expired broccoli flavored Oreos and the packaging is in some weird looking language.

Why would anyone care if those train wrecks of stores went under?

Certain things I preferred going the dollar store over big lots. And they were near each other.

Sugar is sugar, spices and are spices. And none of that ever spoils once it's sealed.

Big lots had a hard time keeping things stocked. Actually why they went out of business here.

How can a dollar store have it and big lots not have it, most of the time? 🤷🏻‍♂

Yet all of theses are considered convenience stores. The convenience being the operative word here.

Many times it's just easier to go walk around the corner than to drive anywhere.

BTW the nearest Walmart here is 30 miles away. No other Malls or department stores are here either.

So all that's left are such convenience stores.

They go under there's nothing left but two expensive grocery stores.

Also there's not a single chain restaurant here. No Denny's, no Applebee's, no Red lobster, nothing! Only fastfood like McDonald's and Burger King.

Again I'm talking convenience food chains. They go out of business there's nothing convenient to eat!
