Not so much the thrift stores but i do hit the second hand/antique stores for old tools and furniture that can be restored and resold.

@jim44444 i had quite the collection of chairs that i was going to restore and i ended up donating them.

@akindheart I was reading an article yesterday about the throwaway furniture of today. Something like 70% of furniture ends up in a landfill. Most of what is sold (including high end) is made of manufactured wood with vinyl overlay. Nearly worthless to repair.

@jim44444 i had these chairs that a neighbor threw away. they would have been pretty to recover and paint but i couldn't use them and i was not sure i could sell them so i donated them. everything is throw away

@jim44444 Same. I practically furnished my whole house from barn sales and antiques malls.
