I Drove to Oklahoma City To Go To the Discount Store, The First Time For Me That It Was $1 Day &

Some weird things. I drove down a road from Moore to OKC and it was raining the entire time. As soon as I turned north on Penn the rain magically stopped as though that other street was the rain’s boundary. The discount store owner has decided to try to find hospital who want donations of all of those packages of masks, which is a good thing. They can’t even sell entire packs of dozens of them on the 50 cent days. So there weren’t many left on the tables like last time when they had dumped hundreds of packages of them in a piles on all of the tables to have to dig under. I saved about an hour of my time because it was easier to search through the tables. The winner for the weirdest item was a bottle of odor neutralizer for skunk sprays. I smelled a faint odor of skunk, seems like the purchaser had touched the outside of the package and it left a tiny bit of odor. I went grocery shopping after I left that store. Went into Sam’s and came out with the wind blustering and blowing stuff around in the parking lot. Felt like an Arctic front was moving in but the temperature didn’t drop. Drove home and went past the Veteran’s center and saw about a dozen buzzards flying around 😱and thought “that can’t be a good sign”. Hadn’t seen them in the area before.

Yes the libs expected the fear/mask economy was permanent .

@MasterLee Everyone wanted to make big bucks off of it and some did. I wonder how many got stuck with their leftover merchandise at the end though? There was a man here who jumped aboard and started a face-shield company. He was selling a huge amount of them. I suppose face shields might have some value in other areas such as if you are doing wood work and don’t want debris hitting your face.

Sounds like an interesting day.

My favorite Asian grocery store has kept a pallet of masks just inside the front door for more than two years. (Of course the masks come from Viet Nam.). Those masks arent selling like in the past.

@Crazywaterspring They’ve had these masks for sale at the discount store for months now and keep getting more in pallets. I’m sure the owner of the store is getting fed up with this since they can’t determine what’s in the pallets before they buy them. They also had a lot of hand sanitizers for sale & have about cleared all of those out, I saw some shoe covers too and they are gone. Still a few packs of face shields. Yesterday I also spotted a “Covid diary” on the tables. I can’t believe the things that people were trying to sell in the name of Covid.

@pedrohedgerow Shut up, Pedro. I am not indulging you in what happened. I am a grown woman so I acted nonchalant about it but it was damned awkward for me anyway. Good thing I like to wear looser shirts, and that’s all I’m saying.
