Chiggers and Amazon

Did you know Amazon is #1 deliverer of Chiggers? On many occasions I have had a package arrive and found them crawling all over it.. I am not talking about thousands of them, but one or two, maybe more is not uncommon.
It makes sense, the parcel comes from down South, where all the nasties live, they get on the boxes and travel North.
When you get an Amazon package, maybe it is best to wash it off outside before you bring it in. Air compressor or leaf blower should work.
It you do something like bring it inside and open it on your bed, then leave the box laying there, well, you will likely find things biting you when you go to bed.

Big problems with weevils here in the UK this summer.
Thought to be from flour, all kinds.

Never had a chigger with Amazon. But then I don't use Amazon and don't know what a chigger is!

I will look more. I get a lot of Amazon stuff I live in Pennsylvania. I have never noticed anything.
@Jonjdw They are super tiny, you really have to look.

Chigger sounds like a hilarious racial slur.
@GeistInTheMachine Yea maybe it should be named the American bug?

@SoftIceCream No, having it sound like a slur sounds way more American to me.
