Amazon employees send letters to CEO

https://www.google.com/amp/s/timesofindia.indiatimes.com/technology/tech-news/thousands-of-amazon-employees-send-open-letter-to-ceo-andy-jassy-say-were-the-workers-who-develop-train-and-use-ai-so-we-have-/amp_articleshow/125646835.cms

In my opinion, if these people *truly* want to make their voices heard ASAP, every Amazon job should be vacated.

I understand they have bills to pay and families to support. From what I have seen through the years, a CEO of a company ultimately is going to do what they want to do, because there is no real threat to the company (meaning every job position being vacated by the lower employees)

So, until there is a real cause for Amazon's CEO to do something (which there isn't) they are going to do what they are planning to do. I've never known a company to change course because thousands of employees send letters. Those letters, I guarantee you, have already been ignored and trashed. Now, is this the truth for every single company in the world? Maybe not, but I am willing to bet not many companies will change their plans.

Perfect example: my work was looking to move office employees to the production floor. These employees had tons of meetings about it, talked with many high up employees higher than them on the ladder. These employees said, "we did it! We saved our being able to stay in the office!". And wouldn't you believe it that all the meetings they had, did nothing. Those office employees are now out of the offices and on the production floor.

Why would any employee expect the CEO to listen to them ? What CEO would waste their time listening to an employee ?

@AthrillatheHunt well thankfully with my job it's pretty much family owned, and there's a lot more people than just one CEO helping to run the place, so they do listen, at least where I'm at.

But there's places where you don't have that family feeling.

@twiigss amazons kinda the opposite of a family biz

@AthrillatheHunt the company I work for isn't amazon, so no worry about corporate bullcrap. like I said, the employer I work for, is family owned, so it's a completely different vibe there
