if amazon attempted a delivery, but i wasn't in, when will they deliver the item again

i bought a book off amazon yesterday, it was out for delivery today but i was out when they tried to deliver it just before...on the amazon website, it says they attempted delivery, but thats it, it doesn't say if or when they will deliver again? i am using amazon uk.

can anyone advise me what to do? i really want this book.
