My New Obsession

One of my friends, CherokeePatti, told me about the Amazon resell shops. I think I am addicted due to the thrill of the hunt. These stores sell returns from Amazon, Bealls, Kohl's and other stores. The stuff is in boxes and bags and are placed in shallow tables.

I have to stop going in there. I always spent too much and I sure don't need anything else but I can't help myself. Last week, I found an external CD player for 10.00.

How it works is: Thursday is restock day and they are closed. Friday, prices are 12.00 per item, Saturday 10.00 decreasing in price until Thursday.

I have a ball in there.

I go on $1 day. Not all of those stores have the days this low but i found two of them that does. I usually save enough money on 2 or 3 things to make it worth my while for the other stuff I get.

@cherokeepatti i must live in a higher cost of living place because our dollar days are 2.00 and it is pretty much picked over

@akindheart that sounds like 50 cent days here. There’s another store in another city (Edmond) that starts out higher priced and only open 4 days but a lady told me that if you go the last day you can find bargains and stay till the last hour they sell things for 2 or 3 for $1 to clear them out….so the bins are not junked up on the first day of the week. She said she finds a lot more nicer things there.

@cherokeepatti i have made friends with the owners so i will ask. they are making a killing!!

@cherokeepatti Isn't Edmond the more affluent city? Or is it that I've only driven through the nicer parts? Edmond has long been our "stop for coffee or lunch" place as we helped deepen the grooves in I-35 :)

@Heartlander I guess it is. Has a lot of newer homes built there. I won’t drive that far for discount store shopping.

@cherokeepatti They are constructing a huge Whole Foods store just 8 blocks from us, and also just 6 blocks from another Whole Foods and 3 miles from yet another Whole Foods. The head scratch about why so many in such close proximity may soon be answered :) Just maybe we may soon have one of those Amazon stores in our neighborhood.

@Heartlander I wouldn’t shop at Whole Foods if it was right across the street from my house. Sounds like they are trying to become a monopoly to build them so close together. The nearest one from me is located 28 miles away. My neighbor went to it when it first opened and paid $8 for a bell pepper because it was organic. WTH was she thinking, her husband even asked her that. She kept saying “it is organic, it is organic”. Bah
