I do grocery order pickups quite often. Saved me so much time and money because I wouldn’t roam around grabbing things I wanted instead of needed.

And I’ve done grocery delivery a couple of times. Once after I had surgery in Louisville, which was so convenient because I wasn’t fit to get out and they were cool with delivering to the hotel, and one time after that when I was recovering at home. We live a good half hour outside of town so to have that option was a true gift to me when it was needed.

They’re always great about informing me of substitutes in time for me to approve or deny them and they’ve even texted me to help reach an adequate compromise when I had a personal shopper through Instacart.

It’s a service I didn’t use at all until Covid hit and it’s become one of my favorite time and headache savers.

I would like to try it as I dislike shopping in supermarkets intensely. But my daughter does like shopping for the meals that she prepares and it's good practice for her housekeeping skills.

@SunshineGirl maybe you can mix it up a bit. Perhaps do the online shop together as well

I've used it a few times, and seen others use it. It's incredibly handy! And it's not expensive if you are in town.

Yes, absolutely right. It’s been a year since I stopped going to marts for groceries.

I've never tried that, but sounds like a great idea. What do they charge for delivery?
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Lilymoon it depends on the slots. Every supermarket is different ranging from 3.50 to £7 I believe. Sometimes they write it off or lower it if it's an expensive delivery or the basket is over a service price

A bit. Always depends on which company you use, level of freshness for meats and produce, etc.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@PhantomMagic88 not had any issues. I buy meat to freeze so it's never an issue

@Mellowgirl That's good to know :)
I do most online tbh. However we do like a big shop once in a while

@V00doo makes sense..I just like the idea of being able to be light. The shopping bags tearing into your hands is something I don't miss.
