The mayonnaise loop

As is fairly normal for me, I am experiencing a ridiculous but annoying abnormality.

They won’t bring me mayonnaise. You may think mayo is gross and that’s fine. I like it.

Three separate times I ordered it from Walmart and all went as usual until the part when I was charged for the mayo and they didn’t bring it. They cheerfully refunded, but a refund wasn’t the reason I ordered mayo.

I finally gave up and ordered from Amazon. It shipped quickly, and was scheduled for delivery this past Tuesday. It traveled from Texas to Albuquerque and Monday it was due to arrive here in Santa Fe. It did arrive in Santa Fe.

Then for reasons known only to USPS, they took it out of Santa Fe and sent it to Santa Rosa, about 2 hours away. You can send stuff TO Santa Rosa from here, but to get back here, it has to go back to Albuquerque.

So now it’s (ha ha) due to arrive today.

I am skeptical.

Update: The mayo DID arrive today. Call off the hounds.

You order it 🫤🫤 Now I find that's confusing.

I just go to the store and get it. No waiting, no delivery fees, no postal fees

I just don't understand people that use mail order. You wasted a stamp and a envelope to order by mail for plain ol mayonnaise.

You can even make mayonnaise at home under 3 minutes. Its just eggs, oil and whip it. If you add spices you have Miracle Whip.

Some people I will never understand. It's like some rare thing that can only be found in the center of Earth or something.

I'm just shocked is all
@HumanEarth I did used to go to the store, but I don’t drive anymore, because I think it’s safer for everybody. I pay for Walmart to deliver rather than yanking my daughter out of her busy schedule.

I don’t even know why I’m explaining this. Walmart says they’ll deliver for a fee, and I pay that fee.

I hope you recover from your shock soon.

@Mamapolo2016 He longs for "the old days".
But in the really old days, no one had cars.

I know I just saw rudolph valentino at one them picture flick show houses on Saturday night for 5 cents
@HumanEarth That sounds like fun. At one of the theaters here, Vintage films are shown, and viewers invited to dress in the style of the era.

There used to be a drive in that did that. The driver paid the year of the car they came in on classic movie night

@HumanEarth You'd make mayonnaise with US eggs? Is that safe? I think I remember Gordon Ramsay getting quite upset because someone on one of his US shows used raw egg.
HumanEarth · F
@ninalanyon Well how else do you suppose to make mayonnaise
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@HumanEarth I have no idea. It's just that I've seen horrifying statistics about the prevalence of food poisoning, salmonella, listeria, in the US.

Between 1995 and 2002, eggs were identified as the source of 53% of all cases of Salmonella reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In 2013, it was estimated that Salmonella caused around 1 million instances of illnesses in the United States (11Trusted Source, 12Trusted Source).

Whereas here in Norway the rules are sufficiently strict to make it safe

Translated by Google because I'm too lazy to type it myself:
Can I drink the egg raw, for example in a smoothie?

Yes, in Norway you can safely eat or drink raw eggs, provided that they are Norwegian eggs packed in cartons and sold in stores, because these are subject to regulations on salmonella guarantee. This means that regular analysis tests for Salmonella are carried out on the farm. According to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, we have a good salmonella status for eggs in Norway, and therefore packaged Norwegian eggs can be eaten raw.

I have been eating raw my entire life. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is a bunch of fear mongers and fear speaders.

They wish to spread brainwashing and vaccination to keep the population sick and dependent on government

I have nothing against you or what you want to believe in. But for me anything that was created by government. Is not for the people
HumanEarth · F
I will keep on eating my raw eggs and raw meat (aka Wild Cat)

@HumanEarth Do you drive a car? On the Interstates? On any roads really.
Do you like to drink safe clean water?
This, mostly US, idea that anything created by government is evil is just risible.

Don't start with me

I think your a great person. Just let this go. I'm not going argue with a friend over the food I eat. Specially food I have been raised on since toddler.

You know I'm not going to change my mind no matter what.
