Last full-size Kmart in US to close

The comments section on Facebook is all sad and nostalgic and meanwhile I'm like I can't remember the last time I went into a Kmart that wasn't filthy run down, grimy and trashed. Will not be missed.

It wasn't always that way though. And nostalgia always reminds us of the past.

When I was 16 my father bought me a crated 1975 175cc CZ motorcycle for $400 from Kmart.

Sure my brother and I had to put it together. Yet I still remember most of the experiences. Including the final accident when some out of state lady trashed it as well as broke my leg.

Everything makes you who you are today. Most especially your remembrances.

The ones in Guam are quite profitable. Japanese and Korean newlyweds shop there for things like baby clothes and dishes.

CONUS KMarts? Don't bother. The stores are disaster zones that are chronically out of stock.

I’ve been banned from all Kmart stores since 1984
@Jenny1234 how did that happen?

@BetweenKittensandRiots I stole a tube of lipstick when I was 13 or 14. Caught and banned. Never stole anything ever again
@Jenny1234 Heh, I just ignored the signage about not taking things into the bathroom and then removed the labeling in there and walked the fuck out when I wanted to steal something, hell, I'd probably have it in my pocket and buy snacks and a drink just to allay suspicion. I've never been caught for it.
not even once.

Kinda seems like an overreaction to me. if I caught a kid that age stealing from my store I might have a discussion with them and their families bout it and ban them for awhile but a permanent injunction is jut bad for business.
