Something like this.

The big shop offers discounts and low prices. They can afford that.
People start to visit that shop more.
A lot of small companies starts loosing customer and later they close down.
Then, as there are lesser competitions the big company starts to charge higher or/and drop product quality. Availability and variations of products are also impacted by them.

As someone living with kind of minimal wage, supporting local shops seem difficult, as the prices are often higher, compared to the prices in big supermarkets. Still, I plan to buy as much as I can from the local shops.
