Have You Noticed Any Change In Business Hours Etc. Lately?

I saw a sign on an Aldi store saying that they would be closing one hour earlier come October. And a very large Arvest bank in OKC has closed it’s lobby now and you can only use drive-in banking now at that location. They still have lock boxes inside though. I think the price to heat and cool those buildings is causing them to make changes. These are the only two that I have noticed doing these things, but then again I don’t get out much to different businesses.

Here it seems to be a staffing problem. At least at the places I go. And including my work itself. We're about 25% under staffed.

@icedsky I am sure that the bank was very expensive to heat and cool, it had very high ceilings and an expansive lobby area, they were never that busy when I was working at the car lot making deposits there. That building used to be another type of business, I forgot what it was before but Arvest bought it and remodeled it to be a bank. Bad choice. Most of the new banks here have low ceilings and are much, much smaller.

@cherokeepatti Has to be damned expensive to maintain a large building. Costs are only increasing as we go along. I would as an owner of a big company be looking at ways to cut costs myself without cutting employees.

@icedsky I can’t imagine them staying in business if they don’t try to save energy. I bet in coming months bank tellers and store workers even will be wearing warm sweaters and jackets as they work.
